FBC Kids is the name of our Children’s Ministry, and we minister to infants through grade five.
Our program on Sunday mornings begins at 9:00 AM with time for kids to connect with each other. Sunday school starts promptly at 10:00 AM and runs until approximately 11:15 AM, when the church service ends.
We offer Sunday School and Nursery during services in a loving and safe environment. In our Sunday School classes we have teachers who are gifted at what they do. They will teach your child an age appropriate lesson and a project or game that goes with the lesson.
A.M.P. (A Mighty Power) is our Wednesday night program for kids in grades one through five. It begins promptly at 6:00 PM and runs until 7:30 PM.
For both programs, kids earn points for our Sunday school store. They earn points for coming, bringing their Bibles, memorizing their verses, and bringing friends. They visit the store and cash in points every two months.
We consider the study of God’s Word our top priority! Some of the curricula we use are TruMinistry by David C. Cook and Explore the Bible for Kids by LifeWay.
Our Children’s Ministry is led by Interim Children’s Director Linda Mirone.
Mrs. Linda Mirone is currently taking a class with Child Evangelism Fellowship titled “Teaching Children Effectively” with the vision of starting a Good News Club in a Portland Elementary School. Mrs. Mirone is a retired Elementary School Teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience.
Our Children’s Ministry is committed to partnering with you, the parents, in raising up your children in Christ. We desire to see children reached with the Gospel. Our staff desires to see your children grow and thrive.
At FBC, your children’s safety is a high priority of ours. We seek to provide a safe place for your children
We employ background checks and training to ensure that all Children’s Ministry workers are up to date with safety procedures. Our teachers are trained and dedicated to working with your children.
Our Check-In System
It’s because of this commitment to your children’s safety that we have the check-in system we do. The system we use is an electronic-check in called KidCheck. KidCheck is an excellent system with many features that help us keep your children safe.
The first time you attend our church we’ll have you set up a KidCheck account. Since KidCheck is web based, you’ll be able to update your account anytime online. Each time you check your child in, KidCheck will print a name tag for your child and a guardian receipt for you. Both the name tag and the guardian receipt have identical barcodes. This code changes every week. You’ll use the guardian receipt to pick up your child. Your child’s teacher will match up the barcode on your guardian receipt with the one on your child’s name tag. We do this to make sure your child is sent home with the right person..
