OUR BELIEFS
The Word of God- We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament, is God’s written Word and is inerrant (free of error) in the original manuscripts. We believe the Bible is God inspired, that the Holy Spirit spoke to godly men and prompted them to write the Scriptures. As God’s Word, we stand firm and hold to the Bible- as our authority in faith and life. We believe the Bible teaches us truth, exposes our rebellion, corrects our mistakes, trains us to live God’s way and equips us for the tasks God has for us. [2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 10:35; John 17:17]
One God- We believe in the One true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. [Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1; Acts 5:3-4]
Jesus Christ our Lord- We believe Jesus was conceived (through the power) of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. [Matthew 1:18, 20, 22-25; Romans 9:5; 1 Timothy 2:5] We believe the Lord Jesus died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that all who repent and believe in Him are justified (made right with God) on the ground of His shed blood. [Isaiah 53:5-6; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Acts 13:38-39; Acts 17:30; 2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 1:7-2:2] We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension (ascent) into Heaven and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate. [Matthew 28:5-6; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:25-26; 1 John 2:1-2]
The Holy Spirit- We believe the Holy Spirit is active and is living within all believers. [Matthew 26:5-6; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:25-26; 1 John 2:1-2]
Mankind- We believe man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby brought upon himself not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed. [Genesis 1:27; Psalm 51:1; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12]
Salvation- We believe that by grace we are saved through faith. Salvation cannot be earned by the works we do but is a free gift from God based on what he has done for us. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior are born again (spiritually born from above) of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. [John 1:12-13; John 3:6-8; Ephesians 1:13-15; Ephesians 2:8-9]
End Times- We believe in the Rapture of the saved. We believe that at any moment the Rapture of the saved may occur, when the Lord Himself will descend from heaven to catch up His people to meet him in the air. [John 14:2-3; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17] We believe in the personal, bodily and premillennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ to set up his kingdom upon the earth. [Matthew 24:29-31; Revelations 1:7; Revelations 19:11-16; Revelations 20:6]We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, the everlasting conscious punishment of the unsaved. [John 5:28-29; Daniel 12:2-3; Matthew 25:46; 2 Thessalonians 1:7b-9]
The Church- We believe in the Church—a living spiritual body of which all regenerated (spiritually renewed) people are members and of which Christ is the Head (supreme authority). We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with Him in baptism and united in Him for worship, work and fellowship. [Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:13] We believe God has laid upon these churches the task of persuading an unsaved world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and to enthrone Him as Lord and Master. We believe human betterment and social improvement are essential products of the gospel. [James 1:27; 1 Peter 2:12; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:7-8]
